Here are some of the upcoming programs at ISKCON Scarborough



6th August- Saturday - 6.30pm - Swati Nakshatra - Abhishek of Lord Narasimha deva
12th August - Friday - 6.30pm - HH Gopal Krishna Maharaj will be delivering a special lecture
13th August - Saturday - 6.30pm - Lord Balaram's apprearance day celebrations
Jhulan yatra starts on 9th August and ends on 13th August.As recommended by Parasara muni in the Parasara Samhita, one should observe this festival every day, or at least from the day of ekadasi(9th Aug) to Balaram purnima(13th Aug). This Jhulan festival gives everyone the rare opportunity to serve Their Lordships personally. We at ISKCON Scarborough will celebrate Jhulan Yatra on 12th August and 13th August- 6.30pm . Srila Prabhupada in his letter to HH Jayapataka Swami Maharaj on Jhulan Yatra ceremony,"Regarding Jhulan yatra Ceremony, during these five days the Deities' clothing should be changed everyday, and there should be nice Prasadam distribution and Sankirtana as far as possible. If you are able to do it, a nice throne may be constructed on which the Deities can be placed. This throne may be swung gently during Kirtana. That will be very good, and surely the Deities will enjoy the function."
26th August - Friday - 6.30pm - we will be celebrating the biggest birthday party of the year, Lord Krsna's appearance day, Sri Krsna Janmastami. This year Sri Krsna Janmastami, Lord Krishna’s divine appearance day, falls on Monday- 22nd August. As all of us will be at Iskcon Toronto taking part in the festivities, we will celebrate Janmastami on Friday 26th August
28th August - Sunday- 10.30 am- We will be celebrating Srila Prabhupada's appearance day in a grand manner on this day. The actual Srila Prabhupada's appearance day is on 23rd August(Tuesday). HH Bhakti Brhat Bhagavat swami Maharaj will be giving a class at ISKCON Scarborough on this day.
